UTSA American Society of Civil Engineering

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), founded in 1852, is the oldest national engineering society in the United States. ASCE was formed to enhance the quality of life through the advancement of professional knowledge and by improving the practice of civil engineering.

ASCE received its student chapter charter in 1989 and has since been one of the most active organizations in the UTSA College of Engineering.
The ASCE Student Chapter promotes fellowship and engineering professionalism among its members through organized participation in chapter and local community activities. These activities include but are not limited to bi-weekly meetings, volunteer events, engineering site visits and student competitions.

ASCE actively participates in hands-on competitions such as the ASCE Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe competitions. These competitions encourage student members to work as a team by designing and constructing a finished product that will go on to compete against other universities in the nation.

The ASCE-UTSA office is located in the Engineering Building  EB 2.04.18. If you are a student interested in joining, an engineering company interested in posting job opportunities or being a guest speaker, or have any questions regarding the UTSA Student Chapter, please stop by and speak with one of our officers or email us at asceutsa@gmail.com
