The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), founded in 1852, is the oldest national engineering society in the United States. ASCE was formed to enhance the quality of life through the advancement of professional knowledge and by improving the practice of civil engineering.

ASCE received its student chapter charter in 1989 and has since been one of the most active organizations in the College of Engineering.  Our goal is to promote the interest and participation in civil and environmental engineering by means of interaction with professionals and faculty as well as student team competitions.

ASCE actively participates in hands-on competitions such as the steel bridge and concrete canoe competitions which encourage student members to work as a team to by designing and constructing a finished product that will go on to compete against other universities in the nation.

The ASCE-UTSA office is in EB 2.04.18, look for the blue ASCE shield.  If you are a student interested in joining, an
engineering company interested in posting job opportunities, or have any questions regarding the UTSA Student Chapter, please stop by and speak with one of our officers or email us at utsaasce@gmail.com
